Won't detect the hard drive
Hi,
I'm trying to fix a friends PC. The original D845HV motherboard is defunct after testing everything, so I purchased another identical board and fitted it today. The board fires up fine but won't boot the hard drive. I can get to BIOS and noticed that the board is failing to detect the HD. I've tried swapping the IDE cables, using a different power pack, checking all cables are fitted properly, swapping the processor for another P4 and checking the HD in another PC.
Any ideas?

Try the out of case build explained here, it can really help when trying to narrow down a defective part.
