The Di-604 is the router. it will provide DHCP if the DHCP function is turned on. IT will not get its own IP from another dhcp router though. At least I have never gotten any to. I set the router IP address manually and then I set the DHCP range to be something that wont interfere with any other static IP addresses. For instance. I set the router to 192.168.1.5 instead of its default of 192.168.1.1. Then I set the range of DHCP to 192.168.1.150 to 192.168.1.170 You have to log into the router to do these changes. Your manual will tell you how to do this and what the default IP address is that you will need to type into your browser.
