Battery was dead, changed it out and lights were flashing, will crank but wont start, has fire and the fuel pump is working

Check engine bay relays and fuses
might have a starter relay on that one
if all good

if the engine light is on
control module,immobilizer or ECU fault
that 1998 should have a diagnostic reader plug in
to find out why it wont fire
You need to clear the codes first. Check fuel pressure.
