Won't turn on - I hit the power button on my Velocity Cruz micro reader to make it 'sleep', but not it won't come back on at all ... what can I do to make it turn on?
Usually when you have what i would call a power lock out. you must remove the battery and wait a few minutes and put it back in, and it usually fires up. Most electronics have these problems. If you are 100% sure the unit is charged with a green light, or no light at all, and you pressing of the top button does not turn it on then remove the back, it is very easy. You can lift it up with your fingernail. If new and faint of heart, under warranty, and all, then make that phone call. Otherwise, you must attempt to remove the connects to the big grey squared battery for a moment, which is said to be easy to do and the battery easy to replace. Look for instruction on the removal on YouTube, or other sites. However, I am more than sure this will solve the problem, unless it has been in liquid, a power surge, dropped, or in excessive heat or cold, or touched by some with "bad karma" for electronics (just kidding). hope this helps.
01/06/2011 - I bought the R103 a couple of days ago and the power switch is really flakey ... have to press several times to turn the unit on or off. I think it's just a defective switch and given the poor overall quality I wouldn't be surprised if lots of others were having similar problems.01/06/2011 - I bought the R103 a couple of days ago and the power switch is really flakey ... have to press several times to turn the unit on or off.
