Wrong voltage usage
I just bought a HDR 120 recently through Amazon. I plugged the 120V tolerance head phone plug to a 240V power source which of course cause it to breakdown. It was a careless mistake that i made without reading the instructions properly!
I would like to enquire whether this product is protected by circuit breaker or fuse to prevent damages from current surge? Does the damage extend to the components within the transmitter? How do I fix this problem?

Sir/madam,
They have no fuse / circuit breaker. And also u can't claim any warranty for the product so, better to contact customer care for more details.
The following cases are not covered by the above warranty:
faults resulting from improper use (e.g. operating errors, mechanical damage, incorrect operating voltage)

Hey,
Generally, headphones and other small entertainment devices don't have fuses in most cases. I feel the best solution is to buy a new set, as I don't think warranty covers such user mistake.
Thanks,
Ekse
I dont think there is any sort of circuit beaker or fuse involved in the unit.
Hi,
Most electronic devices have some sort of fuse or fusible link or sacrificial component in the event of voltage spike/transients. However, in your instance, the voltage was practically doubled and it is very likely that other than the fuse, some other component may have been damaged.
Checking/repairs would involve opening the unit. This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
I dont think there is anything which you could do here. The best thing would be to call them and ask if the product can be serviced, probability is very less though.

Dear,
check its circuitry. most probably, it doesnt contain fuse but check it by the way.
regards,
dont rate it until satisfied
