Upgraded SD Memory card and I can't get past step two which tells me to check the memory card....Step one asked if I wanted to format SD card to which I pressed OK. What do I do?

Some cameras have a maximum limit to the capacity of memory card that can be used. Please make sure that you have the right capacity card. There is also a lock (yellow tab on the side) on SD card. Make sure that it is not in the 'lock' position.
