Xantrex Prosine 1800i "DCDC Shutdown" when connecting AC Load
Could s.b. help me with my problem? Its a Prosine 1800i 12v to 230V Inverter. The inverter starts normaly. When connecting a load to the ac connector the inverter breakdown with blinking display "DCDC SHUTDOWN" If i only check the output voltage it will show me exactly 230V, larger loads will have the above effect.
What could be the problem?

Hi
Did you find a fault or get it repaired as I have a very similar fault with a Statpower (Xantrex) Prosine 24v 1800i 230v inverter the only difference is that mine faults out with no load on it
Thanks
Hi Schnupfy,
- The load is too high (what is the load?)
- The power source is intermittent or weak
- The power source is run through a distribution panel or isolator (Voltage drop)
- The wiring from the 12VDC source is too long for the gauge used
Click here for a PDF copy of the manual. It is quite well documented.
Well, it may be advertised as 1800 watts, but that is a peak. While the 230 VAC may be dead on target, don't expect it to run a mig welder.
Sustained high output is totally dependent upon the power source. What it's doing is protecting itself. DCDC Shutdown indicated 'An overload or system Fault'
