XP was already installed on my laptop. Tried Windows 7. Need to reinstall XP. My product key is supposedly invalid now, but its the one stuck on the sticker on bottom of computer. Why won't this work now?

I may be wrong but I don't think the code on the bottom of your computer is the right one . It should be labled inside the XP cd box you earlier had purchased .
Otherwise , you'l need to go back to your retailer's .
You can also call Microsoft activation Center at 888-725-1047 to explain the situation .
