Yamaha RX-V595a receiver shuts off 2 seconds after its powered on
We just purchased a Yamaha RX-V595a receiver . Even without the speakers hooked up , we plugged the receiver to the outlet and when we hit the power button ,it will stay on for 1-2 seconds and then shuts off. Again this just a receiver with no speakers hooked up to it yet. Cant find the solution in the owners manual. Any help out there ? when it is on for a what seems 2 seconds the panel lights up and reads TUNER. It gives me no time what so ever to test anything because it turns off abruptly-

The first thing called out is the impedance switch on the back is not fully in one or the other position. Cycle the switch back and forth to make sure it will 'read' each setting, then turn it on.
Also make sure you if you have anything connected to its convenience outlets that they are not drawing more current than is allowed.
Did you buy it used or new?
