Denon Surround Receiver Mod.: AVR 3808CI Issue: My Denon Surround Receiver Mod.: AVR 3808CI is connected to a Charter Cable box (Mod.: Scientific Atlanta 4250HDC), an LG HD DVD (Mod.: BH100), and a 52? Samsung TV (Mod.: HL-P5063). This system configuration is about 10 to 12 months old. I?m having two problems I believe are related to the Denon Receiver. 1 ? The video drops out for 5 to 8 seconds while a program. This occurred for 3 to 4 months from Dec.2008 thru April 2009 then began to behave OK. 2 ? Recently for a month or so, when changing the channel from, say, Ch 47 to Ch50, the audio would drop out at Ch 50 and would continue for several higher channels, sometimes as high as I would go. If I stopped at Ch 50 and cycled back to Ch 49, 48, and 47, the audio would resume. I tried several possible investigative solutions. I used the respective RC?s for each item. a. Relative to problem 1 - When the video was dropping out, I used the TV RC, during the 5 second video drop-out period to change volume and observed the normal volume control indication on the screen. I also observed, when there was no video, the lamp would glow inside the back cover thinking the screen was completing shutting down. The lamp continued to glow. This problem has not reoccurred. b. Relative to problem 2 - When changing the input between HDMI using the RC from HDMI position 3 (TV) to position 1 (DVD) then back to position 3, while sitting on Ch 50, the volume would resume. But when cycling back to Ch 47, the volume would again drop out. Then again moving back thru Ch?s 48 thru 50, the volume would resume. c. Relative to problem 2 - When the TV is operating, while viewing Ch 47 and the sound cuts, if I power off the Denon Rec., wait 3 to 5 seconds, then power the Denon Receiver back on (it is automatically set to come on at Ch 47, the volume resumes. When then advancing up to Ch 50, volume is on thru Ch 49 but cuts out at Ch 50. d. Relative to problem 2 - I also tried using the DVD, set to HDMI position 1 via the RC, the volume sometimes works and sometimes not
