My mom got me this razor since i turned 13 and needed to shave. Every time i turn it on it wont shave. there's this button on the front of it that releases a blade and i dont know what its for

I bought this shaver some time ago but am just now starting to use it and have lost operating instructions. My question has to do with the pop up trimmer. It goes up when I push the button but how do I get it to go back down? Do I just manually push it down or does pushing the button again make it go down?

Trimmer on MS2 will not trim. It opens but will not cut--not moving side to side "like a hedge trimmer". It is tied to a linkage to the magnet inside I think. Is there a way I can repair it?
