My mother has a 2 yr old ford fusion with about 27,000 miles on it. Yesterday I drove it. At one point I had to turn while going up a hill. While accelerating the engine seemed to loose power but continued to rev up the rpm's. It began to clatter and blow white smoke. After setting for a second it regained power and I took it home. My mother said it started doing that the day before after having the oil changed but she didn't think it was going to hurt anything because it got better after a second. The local ford place said there was nothing wrong with it. Today I took it out and while accelerating up hill it happened again. Lose of power, clattering and white smoke
Considering you mentioned a recent oil change it could Possibly be overfilled with oil. Check the dipstick to confirm this. If it is overfilled drain some through the sump drain as excessive oil can put pressure on your seals and make then prone to breaking.
Manual or automatic transmition? if it is a manual it just needs a new clutch plate. if it's an auto there is something seriously wrong and you should not drive it at all untill you can convince a mechanic to look at it
