My TR3 leaked oil from the front os the steering box. I removed the front cover of the bos (four bolts) and replaced the shims. Perhaps I may have added one too many. The steering had worked fine otherwise before this misadventure. Now, I have adjusted the cam mesh a few times (the screw and locknut on top of the box). Yet, the steering has too much rotational play, a couple of inches. I do not think that there is anything wrong with the box, for it worked well before. Hence, I do not want to buy a rebuild kit. Can somebody admise me to decide how to decide the correct amount of shims and adjusting the box mesh. Thanks. Ryan
