My Smith Corona Electric typewriter (color gray and weighs less than a portable manual typewriter) was plugged in a socket that has 230 volts but the typewriter needs 110-120 volts. I forgot the voltage converter. After a few seconds, it went off by itself and starts to smell bad but there was no smoke. What was burned in it?
