I have a 10 year old Dacor gas cooktop, model SGM304S - 4 burner. The right front burner has ceased to ignite, and the technician who came to repair it said that the entire stainless steel top plate needs to be removed in order to replace the igniter. However, he could not remove the brass rings from each burner, as 3 of the 4 had seized up. He oiled them, and they are sitting for 2-4 days in the hope of getting them to release, but if not, he said that the only solution would be to break into the burners, at a much higher cost. Your thoughts on this? Any suggestions?
