Host machine is running XP Home. Host machine is running Internet Conection Sharing. Host machine is therefore DHCP server for LAN. If Norton Internet worm protection is enabled, other PC's on LAN CANNOT get IP address. If Norton Internet worm protection is disabled, other PC's on LAN CAN get IP address. As other PC's on Lan include laptops that log onto other networks - IP address can be anything so to specify a range to exclude would have to be from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255 which is obviously unaceptable. XP obviously uses a program to monitor requests to access DHCP server for assignation of IP address - what is that program so i can add it under Program rules to exclude it so other PC's on LAN can get IP address whils Norton INternet worm protection is running
