impact set (2601-20) approximately 20 months ago. The drill worked fine up until about a month ago. When a fully charged battery (indicated with the push-button on the battery and also tested with a voltmeter) was placed in the drill, the drill would simply go about 5 revolutions (very slowly) and die. Subsequently this would kill the battery as indicated by the push-button. Sometimes the push-button would show nothing and other times, the first "power block" would flash. I placed the battery back on the charger for approximately 5 seconds and removed it. The battery would show full power, but die when placed in the drill. When the battery "fully charged" was placed in the impact driver, it worked fine. However, after doing this approximately four times, the batteries (I have 2 older style and just bought three new extra ones) will not charge and cannot be used in either the drill or impact. Is there a "short" or something in the drill that is causing this? Also, what does this mean in terms of the batteries(Are they "fried" and have lost their "memory" - Will they ever work again)? Thanks. Mike
