Good morning. Three years ago we had an inground 15,000 gallon salt water pool installed that included a Pentair pump. The last couple of mornings there is a terrrible whine occurring as the pump kicks on. Perhaps it's cavitating, perhaps the bearings have worn out I don't know. The information plate on the pump says it's a three-quarters horse power motor. It also says 1.27 SF and .95 SFHP and part number 7-186236-20. The plate doesn't say anything about Challenger, Intelliflow, SuperFlo, SuperMax, Waterfall, WhisperFlo. It might be time to replace the pump. It looks mostly like the SuperFlo or WhisperFlo, but not exactly. How can I figure out what the replacement pump is?
