For many years, my monitor will flash too bright ocassionally. And it will stay too bright until I jiggle the whole monitor. I thought it is the connection in the back of the monitor, and if I jiggle this connection, it does , indeed, affect this problem. But, I can't tighten this connection any more than it is. Plus, the problem always comes back. Once I get the bright flash gone....everything looks great for a real good while. I used to think it only happens when a page comes up on my screen that has a lot of whiteness to it, but really, if I'm on any page...it can start to flicker too bright. Sometimes, it corrects itself. I have tried using the Degauss button, but that doesn't permanently fix it
