I'm working with 2 layers of cotton for most of a project but part of it is 2 layers of terry cloth in addition to the cotton and I keep running into trouble with my bottom thread. I'm very new to sewing, so it might be a simple fix that I've just never heard of yet. Sometimes my bottom thread is very tight and bunchy then it knots and the top thread end up breaking, while other times the bottom thread seems to not get caught by the needle and I end up with really long stitches instead of even ones. Any ideas what could be wrong? I'd really appreciate the help! Oh, this may be relevant, the issue started with my last project which was working with 2 layers of cotton and a layer of denim (sewing cotton belt loops onto jeans)
