My gas furnace fires but then cuts out. There is a similar post on here about this but my problem is a little diiferent. The unit kicks on, fires then shuts right down. The blower comes on and stays on. Then repeatedly the unit tries to fire but shuts right back off. However, what I have found, is if I turn on either hot water to get the hot water heater to fire up or the burners on my stove, the furnace will fire and run properly. All 3 appliances run off the same feed line from my propane tanks. First the furnace, then the hot water heater, and last the stove. It seems as though as long as something else is pulling gas from the tanks, the furnace is able to fire and stay running. This all started about a month ago when I had run out of propane at no fault of mine. Both my tanks are tied to each other and run down equally. This time the tank closest to the appliances read 30%. So I thought I was ok with propane. However after noticing my hot water heater was out and I barely had a flame on my stove I realized I was out of gas and checked the second tank which read 0. After getting a delivery of propane, with a $200 emergency fee tacked on, the delivery guy told me that apparently something went wrong with the guages and the first tank read properly while the second was stuck at 30%. And that is when this problem started. Also I should add, I keep my house at 67 degrees while Im home and 65 when Im not. Since that last fill up I have gone thru 50% in both tanks. Seems a little much to me
