Fan blower motor appears weak. It's $200 to replace, so how can I make sure it's actually the problem? It's getting 115 V, and when I remove the whole fan motor blower assembly (usually to clean the impeller), it seems fine. Lately, however, it has been failing to spin or spinning weakly, meaning the dryer gets hot but the air doesn't circulate. I lubricated the motor shaft with some bike chain oil since it didn't seem to spin as freely as before. This helped, but only for a while. Now it seems I have to add a little oil every other day to do my laundry! My guess is that there's a bearing that's just completely gone, but I know very little about motors. Could it just be getting weak or something? Am I ruining it by putting a little oil near the top where that plastic spinning thing is above the motor? I've never experienced a motor that behaved this way. Washer is in great condition otherwise. I paid $300 for the unit used and don't relish the idea of paying $200 just for a replacement fan motor. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this problem? Or, does anybody have a blower motor they'd sell me for $50? It's part number 090215 through ApplianceDesk.com, position #8 in the parts manual under Ventilation
