This is the 3rd loaf of french bread I've attempted in my new Hamilton Beach HomeBaker Breadmaker. They have all failed. The first, I attributed to my error - forgot to put the mixing blade in, so the ingredients were dumped out and put back into the pan. Second time, the bread was coarse. Decided to get brand new bread flour and bread machine yeast for the third try. Ingredients were measured accurately using the enclosed recipe. It barely rose, is course and wet. I've had a bread machine for about 20 years and was excited to receive a new one, but the product so far has been a waste of ingredients. The recipe that is included in the book for French Bread does not call for oil; is this a mistake?
