We just purchased an Akai 1080i PT5598HDI projection tv. There is a very loud humming noise, then it would fade away and the sound would come on. The picture is fine. We think (from our own trouble shooting) that the right speaker is blown. I looked online and found this response: "It sounds like a bad filter in the audio supply circuit finally took out the sound output chip or the power supply that controls the sound circuit. its a solid state set and there are no user replaceable parts inside this set. Unless you have had solid state repair experience, please be safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. good Luck" Does this sound like it's correct? If so, what would the cost be to have this repaired (an estimate)
