After 8 years and many hot summers, my remote now works 'sometimes.' I did change the batteries. If i hold the remote up close (3ft or less) to the fan, it does turn on...but only after hitting the fan switch more than a few times. I do not like heights and will not get up on a ladder to take a look at the controller, so i'm thinking a tech needs to be called in if it isn't the remote

In my Hampton Bays ceiling fan is a circular fluorescent bulb which gives very poor light. Is it possible to put in a different lighting system like hallogen?

I have a Hampton Bay Windward II ceiling fan. Fan works fine but fluorescent light doesn't. Have done some troubleshooting. Obviously 120V input is OK otherwise fan wouldn't work. Wires to the light ballast have 0V AC. Seems obvious to me there is some kind of wiring mistake internally. Thoughts?

Tried to install a ceiling fan to replace a dimming light chandelier.......light on fan and fan itself works but only by the pull chains....it will not turn off or on by the wall switch that controlled the dimmer light...i know the fans lights wont dim but i need them to turn off by that switch......when i removed the chandelier there were three black wires twisted together and three white wires twisted together plus the ground wire. I connected the three black and three white to the corresponding wires in the fans motor.....along with the ground......i installed this very same fan in a different room and it works fine...what am i missing?

I have a remote for my HB Callaway II ceiling that after 8 years finally decides to go on the blink. I did change the batteries, but that works sometimes. I find that when I get up close and personal (3 ft or less) to the fan, it may decide to turn on after several attempts on the fan switch. Do I need a new remote or is it something in the fan that needs repair?

My Callaway II ceiling fan transmitter shows that air is being pushed down. However, the ceiling fan is actually pushing air upward. I've tried everything I can think of to get the transmitter and ceiling fan to be back in synch. How do I get the ceiling fan back in synch with the transmitter?
