Basic Q's I've read the user manual and the tips and tricks paper that came with the calculator but I still can't seem to understand how to do these 2 things. 1. display things like 9 to the 16th power or 3 to the 12th power I can only do like 10 to the 9th power, 10 to the 7th power, etc... 2. store and recall a constant is it possible to store a value and then instead of having to continually retype in the value just press something to bring the value up again (for adding long strings of numbers...) Thanks!

I have replaced the batteries (AAA & Lithium) and when I turn the power on I get the solid block cursor, but nothing I type shows up. It is almost like it is frozen. I have had this for about 16 years and would like to keep it working if possible!

TI83 Troubleshooting... Josh - Read your reset procedures and I have a similar problem except: My daughter had the calculator for a few years and it did work before. I installed a new backup battery and replaced the four AAA batteries with new. I can't even get the calculator to power up - - the display remains black. As I said, I did try the reset procedures that you listed, but the calculator still will not show anything on the display. Should I give up and trash it?
