Last night I was using my computer. While I slept it ran a windows update. This morning I woke up the mouse didn't work, so I forced the computer to restart. Since then, it has continued to restart. It goes through the normal loading screens and then it goes to a screen giving me options to restart it: safe mode, safe mode with networking, last known good configuration, etc If I click safe mode, it loads a bunch of codes for about 20 seconds then restarts. If I select the last known good configuration, it goes to the windows xp loading page then after about a minute restarts. The same for when I do the start normally. I've tried unplugging all the usb things but nothing changed. I can't even get to the log-in page. Please help!

I recently copied a lot (200gb-ish) of data from one external hard drive to another. Then windows crashed and displayed the 'delayed write error' and I lost almost all my files. However, on 'my computers' it shows that the old external hard drive (from which I copied the files) still has 400 gb of content, which means that the files may possibly still be on there...? Even though it doesn't show when I open the hard drive. Please help me recover the files!
