off switch, thermostat, and both seem to function properly. I have done a resistence check of the heating element, with a value of 22.50 ohms for the 600 watt, 14.38 ohms for the 900 watt, and 36.82 ohms for the 1500 watt. There is no evidence of oil leaks. What else can I look for? Does the oil break down over the years of service? Thanks in advance for your help. Mike
