Sound isn't working, and there is no audio device to select from either. It is my friends computer (the email given is also hers). It's an HP computer, her son tried to get the sound to work and deleted the HP audio driver. The reason was because the audio was not coming through the Altec Lansing speakers, it was coming through the actual computer. I assume he thought if he got rid of that one, the other (Altec Lansing) would pick up the audio. The problem is there is no selection for the audio driver. I went into the device list and found realtek audio driver, but enabling that does nothing. I downloaded the Altec Lansing driver software called DriverBoost. It updated and ran a scan, unfortunately nothing happened, it couldn't find a device to update. My next thought was to update the HP drivers, so I also downloaded there software. Infact, it was almost identical to the DriverBoost software. The main difference was the name - Driver Detective. No difference to help fixing the problem. Please help
