Dear FixYa, I have a Whirlpool LHW0050PQ front load washer, which was purchased about three years ago. Just recently, I started having problems with it. First, about two months ago, the washer would stay fixed on the spin cycle and would not unlock, even though all the water had drained. I tried turning it on and off, to no avail. I then started a new spin cycle hoping to drain excess water, but it would just slowly spin and change directions. I checked the filter which was clogged, but after cleaning it, it still would not unlock after completing the cycle. Finally, my wife and I just settled for prying the door mechanism after each load. Now, when I came home, I observed that all the lights for each cycle was lit, as well as the start button (constantly on, not flashing). I tried the self-diagnostic by turning both dials to 6 o'clock and holding start when powering on. This did nothing. Each time I turned it off and on, the lights just stayed on. When I hit the start button, you will hear a short buzz (like the water is quickly started and then shut off), and then the prewash light turns off. The clothes then start to spin slowly and change directions, then the "Wash" light turns off, and then the "Rinse" light turns off (leaving just the "Spin" and "Done" light on). The clothes continue to spin, when eventually it stops and then the "Start" button and all cycle lights illuminate again, without having done anything. The clothes are bone dry.
